October is a month of two halves. Early October builds gently from September's LOW levels. Then Halloween week (Oct 25-31) surges to EXTREME as Mickey's Not So Scary and Halloween Horror Nights draw massive crowds.

Universal Studios Florida hosts Halloween Horror Nights on select evenings - a separate-ticket event that drives evening crowds but leaves daytime manageable. EPCOT's Food and Wine Festival is in full swing with excellent food and entertainment.
Early October (Oct 1-10) is wonderful. Often overlooked between September and the fall holiday rush, early October offers LOW crowds with beautiful weather and Halloween theming.
Halloween week (Oct 25-31) rivals spring break. If you must visit during Halloween week, buy park tickets and Lightning Lane far in advance.
Halloween Horror Nights at Universal is a separate evening event. If you want to attend HHN, buy those tickets separately from your daytime Universal admission.
