Animal Kingdom is the least crowded Disney World park in January, followed by EPCOT. At Universal, Universal Studios Florida runs slightly lighter than Islands of Adventure. Mid-January weekdays are exceptional across all parks. Note EPCOT hosts its Festival of the Arts during January, which adds a modest weekend bump but makes the park especially enjoyable.
Skip Jan 1โ3 entirely if you can. The post-holiday drop on Jan 4 is one of the most dramatic of the year. One day makes an enormous difference.
Jan 4โ17 is the #2 best window of 2026. Only September rivals it. Hotel rates are at their annual low, making this the best value-for-money time to visit Disney or Universal.
EPCOT is especially enjoyable in January. The Festival of the Arts adds Broadway performances, culinary arts booths, and art installations on top of the naturally quieter park experience.
